These are the faces and stories of the 43 paedophiles, perverts and sex offenders from Lancashire who were all sentenced for their crimes.
While all crimes have a damaging effect on victims, offences of a sexual nature can have the most horrific long-lasting consequences.
Since the start of a series of despicable criminals have found themselves before the courts for offences ranging from 'upskirting' and indecent child images to 'brutal' sex assaults and rape.
Some of them were committed while in positions of trust, including a Boys Brigade leader and two teachers, while others were carried out online or over the 'dark web'.
Read on to find out about their shocking crimes and the police investigations carried out to bring them to justice. Join our Lancashire Court News Facebook group. Thomas Robert Peel indecently assaulted a young boy in Barnoldswick around 20 years ago and made him perform sex acts on him. The year-old defendant was a teenager when he committed the offences at the turn of the century and did it 'as some form of sexual experimentation'.
A Judge said 'the memory of that incident is seared onto [the victim's] brain' and that he 'buried the memory of the abuse for many years' until reporting it to police in Preston Crown Court heard that when the allegations were first made Peel's wife 'terminated' their marriage and restricted access to his son.
He then relocated to Tenerife and worked as a bar manager before leaving the job a week before his sentence. Peel, of Barnoldswick, pleaded guilty to one count of indecency with a child and was found guilty after a trial of three other counts of indecency with a child. Peel was jailed for two years and ordered to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years.
Adrian Gartshore-Taylor sexually abused a year-old boy multiple times over weeks and months in at Great Birchwood Country Park and Campsite at Warton, near Lytham. The year-old, who was a car boot salesman living in a caravan on the site, enticed the boy - who cannot be identified due to legal reasons - to work for him and help him sell his goods.
On one occasion he convinced the boy's father to let him stay overnight at his caravan so that they could start setting up the car boot stall early in the morning. Preston Crown Court heard how this was simply a ploy for Gartshore-Taylor to groom the boy, with the child being abused on multiple occasions in the caravan between January 1 and November 29, He would show the child how to play computer games on his laptop, during which he would start sexually assaulting him.
This happened on multiple occasions. Gartshore-Taylor bought the boy the latest mobile phone and trainers, as well as taking him on trips to the cinema, as a way to buy his loyalty.
The boy's mum became slightly suspicious at what was going on, but because of a lack of evidence over anything untoward she assumed he was buying these things himself with his extra money from working for the defendant.
The court heard how in the near two decades since the abuse, the victim had suffered a result of the trauma of the sexual assaults on him, suffering from depression and anxiety for a decade. Former taxi driver Gartshore-Taylor was arrested on May 28,after which he admitted abusing the victim to police officers. He did it for his own 'sexual gratification', the prosecution told the court. Gartshore-Taylor, 66, now of West End Road, Morecambe, pleaded guilty to four counts of incident assault against a boy under the age of 14 and one count of indecency with a child or boy under He was jailed for a total of seven years.
Convicted sex offender Stuart Bulling became the first person in the UK to be jailed for a new 'upskirting' offence. The year-old, of Bacup Road, Rawtenstall, pleaded guilty to two counts of voyeurism and three counts of making indecent images of children. He was classed as a 'dangerous offender' and jailed for two years at Preston Crown Court in November with an extended three years on licence.
Former Boys Brigade leader William Bissett 'cynically abused' his position of trust at the Church Street Methodist Church group in St Anne's to 'prey upon' five young boys over an year period. The year-old 'groomed' some of the boys by setting up circumstances to take them into the side room of the church and under the pretence of 'smartening them up'.
Bissett, of Rossendale Road, St Anne's, was found guilty after a trial at Preston Crown Court of 17 counts of indecent assault on boys under the age of Preston Crown Court heard how there was a 'significant degree of planning' in Bissett's offending and a 'significant abuse of trust'. Powerful victim impact statements read out at court told how the defendant's actions had left a 'profound effect upon them, often for the rest of their lives'.
Judge Robert Altham said Bissett had 'not shown a shred of remorse' and praised the 'contrasting courage of the five complainants'. Bissett was jailed for a total six-and-a-half years and ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.
